surviving the uni workload

I'm not sure if it's just me being unproductive and slacking off, or has this course turned into an assignment churning hub... Somehow managed to hand in four assignments within the last 11 days and I have 2 more due (one of which I'm glad to say has already been completed). The dread of handing in a piece of work which you are unsure of how it's going to be assessed really freaks me out. I must say it had been really difficult for me to have my quiet times and read the bible recently, the busyness clouded over and I was a hermit... a rather depressed hermit too. I had to hand in this huge assignment for my LOTE unit on Friday afternoon, and I rushed and I rushed to finish it on time and was able to hand it to my lecturer, only to discover when I returned home that the two most important components of my assignment, my two CDs that contained bits of realia that I spent ages collecting had been left at home. I felt like such a tool. It was a total miracle though, I was able to get a hold of my lecturer via email and explained what I did and that I would hand the two CDs on Saturday (my lecturer and a few other colleagues were marking the assignments together that day), and to my surprise she replied and said that it was alright. Between Friday's pathetic discovery and Saturday morning when I handed in the rest of the stuff, I was able to draw up an assessment rubrics which was actually a major part of my assignment but I ran out time to do by Friday arvo. So basically I went into uni on Saturday morning, was able to hand in my CDs and my rubrics sheet without a fuss from the lecturer. And to my bigger surprise, we were able to collect our results today... and I found out that I passed...! I'm sooooooo excited! this unit had been the bane of my entire course and I had flunked the first 2 of the 4 assignments...

On an even more joyful note, I have started my 6-week ATP, I think my class of Year 5/6s are very very sweet kids. I'll be going to the Perth Art Gallery with them tomorrow! I've never been there.... wanted to but never got the chance.... how cool is that.... getting the opportunity to check it out and not have to pay for it too! yay!

Backtracking... Young Adults had an awesome Quiz Night last Thursday... it was a good turn out... and there were heaps of great prizes, including a helicopter ride (which my sister managed to score) hopefully will be able to get a hold of some of the pictures I took that night on Chelsea's camera. Looking forward to September's Cocktail Party...

My current favs: Commercials from a Taiwanese phone company (very funny), Alan Kuo's new song (which my friend Ren helped write), the US Vanity Fair, and a thought provoking verse 1 Corinthians 6:17...
